Audi e-tron vs. Tesla Model X in State College

Look out Tesla, there's a new player in the all-electric SUV game and this one means business. Elon Musk's electric car company may have been the first to bring the all-electric concept to the mainstream consciousness, but the all-new 2019 Audi e-tron is here to up the ante, delivering powerful performance and a luxury driving experience that only Audi can deliver.

Both the e-tron and Tesla's Model X are exceptionally quick SUVs, with relatively long driving ranges compared to their power output. Receiving power from its 95-kWh battery, the electric motor of the Audi e-tron generates an impressive 408 horsepower and 490 pound-feet of torque. Even with such potent power output, the e-tron achieves an estimated range of just under 250 miles on a full charge. Every Audi e-tron model comes with 150-kW DC fast-charging capabilities which can regenerate 80 percent of its driving range in just 30 minutes. Even better, new owners benefit from 1000 kWh of free charging through the Electrify America network.

The Audi e-tron Offers Williamsport and Bellefonte Drivers Greater Utility and Luxury than the Model X

Both SUVs lay down power smoothly and nearly instantaneously, and both offer advanced infotainment touchscreen controls. However, the e-tron pulls in front of the Model X thanks to greater overall utility and Audi's unparalleled heritage of luxury.

They may be electric, but an SUV should still function as a utility vehicle. The Audi e-tron boasts more ground clearance than the Model X, giving it more capability away from the asphalt. In terms of cargo capacity, the Model X continues to fall behind, as the Audi e-tron delivers more cubic-feet of rear cargo room with all seats in place. Furthermore, Audi's seats can be folded for more than double the space. The Model X doesn't have that option.

The Model X is also unable to equal the quality and opulence of the Audi experience. Throughout the Audi e-tron's finely crafted cabin you'll find nothing but high-quality materials, meticulous construction, and elegant style. A 16-speaker 705-watt Bang & Olufsen premium audio system is standard as is support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the other hand, the interior of the Model X is relatively nondescript; suffering from slight panel misalignments, inconsistent gasket seals, and inferior material choices. Also, for a company as technologically advanced as Tesla, the Model X offers few options for smartphone integration, and its navigation system was described by Edmunds.com as "unreliable."*
